Meet Taylor Sherman
Taylor Sherman, LGPC, M.Ed.
Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (MD)
Managing Director of Harmony Holistic
Certified Hypnotist
Taylor Sherman specializes in working with adult individuals, couples, and neurodivergent teenagers, helping them navigate anxiety, ADHD, trauma, relationship challenges, and life transitions. His approach blends existential frameworks and humanistic psychology with holistic and mind-body practices, empowering clients to create meaningful and lasting change. His work explores the intersection of choice and meaning, gently reshaping inner narratives while helping clients stay grounded and true to themselves.
With individuals, he focuses on breaking limiting cycles, overcoming self-doubt, and building resilience. His therapy sessions blend deep exploration with practical strategies, helping clients shift long-standing patterns and develop confidence in both thought and action. Depending on each client’s needs, sessions may incorporate experiential work, somatic awareness, or subconscious change techniques to support authentic, sustainable growth.
In couples therapy, he helps partners strengthen emotional connection, rebuild trust, and deepen intimacy. Relationships move through seasons—times of closeness, moments of rupture, and opportunities for transformation. Taylor has completed Level 1 and Level 2 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and integrates Gottman Method principles alongside Attachment-Based Therapy to help partners navigate emotional shifts, resolve conflicts, and communicate with greater clarity and compassion. For those uncertain about their future together, he offers Discernment Counseling, helping partners to reflect and make informed decisions about their next steps.
He also works with neurodivergent, high-achieving teenagers—especially those with ADHD or gifted traits—who are navigating anxiety, focus challenges, and the pressures of perfectionism or high expectations. His goal is to help them embrace their unique minds while building emotional resilience and self-acceptance.
Before becoming a therapist, Taylor spent 15 years as a hypnosis practitioner and coach, helping individuals overcome behavioral challenges and deep-seated emotional barriers. He trained extensively in subconscious change work, Humanistic Neuro-Linguistic Psychology (HNLP), and somatic interventions, skills that now enhance his psychotherapy practice. He completed his clinical training at George Mason University’s Center for Community Mental Health, where he worked with clients facing relationship and attachment issues, depression, PTSD, grief, body image concerns, and compulsive behaviors. During this time he co-led a men’s group focused on helping men overcome anxiety and depression while building confidence, connection, and a stronger sense of purpose.
A recognized speaker and educator, Taylor has been invited to present at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) on topics such as stress reduction, self-hypnosis, and pain management. He has been featured on The Soul of Life Podcast, Transform a Nation with Paul Davis, and the 105.9 FM Morning Show, and has presented at the National Guild of Hypnotists’ Annual Conference. His work is also informed by research—he coauthored a published review on the intersection of trauma and substance use disorders, deepening his understanding of how past experiences shape present challenges.
As a licensed graduate professional counselor, Taylor practices under the supervision of Amanda Rhodes, Psy.D., Licensed Psychologist, MD License #06442. He offers telehealth therapy for individuals across Maryland, and in-person therapy in Rockville, MD.

Philosophies
Client-centered: Change begins within the person, each person has untapped wisdom, and that we can take specific, actionable steps to achieve our goals.
Pragmatic: Doing what works, and sorting for what makes the most difference in people’s lives.
Welcoming: Diversity is important and Taylor welcomes working with people of all age groups, races, ethnicities, cultures, genders, sexual orientations, and levels of ability.
Open-minded, Evidence-based: We should consider all options but take into strong consideration what available evidence and scientific inquiry has presented as being true.
Artful: Making shifts in one’s life should occur in a meaningful way. Taylor uses dynamic and creative psychotherapy processes and mind/body techniques, where you are able to access subconscious resources and use them for healing and growth.
