Dr. Ahmed Adetola is passionate about health and wellness, and he views health in a holistic manner, which means he acknowledges the multidimensionality of health, such as: physical, mental, spiritual, social, and emotional. He believes that the health and wellness of these multidimensional aspects of human existence is what makes an individual whole and healthy.
Ahmed believes we are all driven to realize our true potential and live a life that we are happy to live. In our journey to fulfill these objectives we may have to overcome various obstacles in our physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional health. It is not always easy to seek professional help and our decision to do so shows our dedication to our health and wellness. Ahmed aims to listen, be compassionate, and empathize with his clients in order to help them achieve their health and wellness goals.
In his practice, Ahmed acknowledges that the experiences we have with our parents/caregivers can truly leave a lasting impression on our mental health that can manifest in various developmental ages from young to old. These experiences can influence our belief systems, self-esteem, social relationships, among other aspects. As a result, he enjoys working with clients with various presenting concerns such as: identity issues, self-esteem, relationship issues, issues with family/caretakers, interpersonal difficulties, existential issues, and trauma (physical, emotional, sexual). He also enjoys working with clinical issues such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and PTSD.
Ahmed is happy to work with individuals, couples, and families because he values the importance of individuality and getting to know ourselves more intimately through individual therapy, while also valuing the importance of improving our relationship with others as relationships can enrich our personal lives. Ahmed is practicing as a postdoctoral psychology associate under the supervision of Dr. Melanie Ricaurte (MD License #05428).
