Meet Dr. Daniels

Katrina Daniels, Ph.D.

Dr. Katrina Daniels (anything respectful) is passionate about guiding people to feel more
connected, accepting, and understanding of themselves and others while navigating the
challenges of life. They emphasize a holistic view toward health and wellbeing, incorporating all aspects of the human experience. They believe in understanding our sense of self and the
multifaceted nature of life is fundamental for navigating the often difficult and overwhelming
facets of humanity. They provide a non-judgmental, empathic, safe space for clients that supports acceptance, understanding, personal growth, exploration, and curiosity.

Dr. Daniels values an integrative and humanistic approach to therapy that explores all aspects of individual’s identities, values, and societal context. They use an integrative approach that is
mostly grounded in psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral therapies, meaning they aim to
guide clients to recognize how their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors are impacting themselves and the world around them. They believe our past experiences influence us in ways that can manifest at various times throughout our lives and shape how we view our self, relationships, and our environment.

Dr. Daniels has experience working with a diverse range of clients with varying presenting c
oncerns. Specifically, they have emphasized working with gender and sexual minority individuals and veterans. Dr. Daniels most recently worked as a Naval Psychologist and has previous experience in different types of settings including inpatient, outpatient, community college, and the VA. Additionally, they have clinical experience working with individuals from 17-85 with such concerns as, gender and/or sexual identity development, substance use, trauma, severe mental illness, bipolar, anxiety, depression, and concerns related to school and general life challenges. They have received specialized training in trauma, including PE and CPT, as well as CBT for insomnia.

Dr. Daniels’ varied clinical experience contributes to their flexibility in using a variety of therapeutic approaches to guide clients to reach their personal goals. Their research interests include understanding how an individual’s multiple intersecting identities and communities interact within the individual and their environment. Dr. Daniels is particularly interested in working with gender and sexual minority individuals, veterans, military personnel, and individuals from marginalized communities. They take a strengths-based approach that recognizes how systemic oppression and stigma impact the health and happiness of individuals, families, and the community as a whole.

At Harmony Holistic, Dr. Daniels looks forward to providing a warm, safe, and welcoming therapeutic environment that emphasizes growth and contentment for individuals, couples, and families. Dr. Daniels is practicing as a postdoctoral psychology associate under the supervision of Dr. Melanie Ricaurte (MD License #05428).
