Meet Zach Scarfo

Zach Scarfo, BA
Clinical Social Work Intern
Zach Scarfo is a clinical social work intern from the Catholic University of America and is completing his advanced year field placement at Harmony Holistic. Zach utilizes a trauma-informed, inclusive approach with a focus on enhancing communication with the self and others through technical eclecticism. He focuses on cognitive behavioral theories and utilizes CBT, mindfulness practices, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and other modalities to work with his clients. Zach is committed to meeting clients where they are and creating a safe and welcoming space for a variety of backgrounds and identities.

Zach has a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Pittsburgh and, before transitioning to clinical work, spent 10 years working in the public relations and communications fields for a diverse set of clients in a variety of environments. A focus of his studies and work includes the way that work/life balance and technology can affect a client’s mindset and perspectives and can complicate a variety of psychological, emotional and behavioral issues. Whether working with an individual, a couple or a family, Zach believes that communication and environment are critical pieces of the puzzle when it comes to creating positive change.
